Cindy Shaoul’s celebrated “Dripping Dots” series is a vibrant body of work characterized by cascading, chunky dots of richly layered paint that flow dynamically across the canvas with energetic grace and luminous color. What began over a decade ago as an accidental studio practice—cleaning brushes onto fresh canvases in circular motions—evolved into her signature motif. The technique creates thick impasto textures that “dance” on the surface, enhanced with mixed media, gold and silver leaf, and fragments of glass for added shimmer and contemporary depth. Each piece in the series is named after evocative, dreamy destinations that capture a specific mood, nostalgia, and atmosphere. “Dripping Dots - St. Tropez”, Shaoul channels the sun-drenched glamour and carefree elegance of the French Riviera. The composition bursts with vibrant Mediterranean-inspired hues—vivid pinks, turquoises, golds, and jewel-toned accents—that evoke the feeling of golden hour light reflecting off the sea, luxury yachts, and lively coastal scenes.
